From The Editor

Hi [[name]].

Wow! What a great start for 2005. Many of the Nonprofit Groups that I have spoken to just in the last few weeks have really taken the bull by the horns, so to speak. They are really out there raising funds for their group with a lot more fervor than a year ago.

With the outpouring of funds to help the recent Tsunami victims, I think people are getting into the giving spirit. It's a little bit unusual to have such generous and substantial gifts made so soon after the Holiday Season.

As a fundraising manager for your group, keep this momentum going for you in the most positive manner possible.

You could go the other way of thinking and say to yourself, "Everybody has given to the Tsunami relief funds and there is nothing left for my group." Don't do it! Don't go down this negative trail.

Let me encourage you to think positive and ride the momentum. Just keep in mind...Generous giving is contagious.

Remember to try our excellent Free Online Magazine Sales program that can be
used along side of any other fundraiser you are managing.

Here's wishing you the start of a great 2005,
Jesse Carter, Editor

Commemorative Plates

Commemorative Plates Bring Attention
It's true. Commemorative Plates generate lots of attention. They are great for public relations, membership incentives, special occasions, anniversaries, and yearly annual drives.

These plates are heirloom quality 23K gold double banded edge plates made of fine porcelain.

Use your own photo or artwork to have laser-created photographic colors placed on a beautiful plate that reflects your special occasion.

I've found that groups offering these plates annually, will increase their memberships by word-of-mouth alone.

Be sure to pass this fundraiser along to your friends that belong to another nonprofit group, association or ministry. They will thank you for doing so.

Fundraising Software

a2 Personal, Adware Protection

Banner Name

We have recently seen great success for our personal computers here at ProfitQuests.com by using a new software called, a2 Personal.

It's a very inexpensive tool that can keep those Trojan Horses, Adware, Spyware, Dialers, Worms and other intrusive components collectively called Malware (malicious code) off of your computer.

Most antivirus software are good protection against viruses, but they leave your computer defenseless against these new types of Malware. a2 Personal fills the gap left by your antivirus software.

a2 Personal frees your computer from most Malware infections with automatic updated protection too. The background guard immediately blocks new malware from infecting your computer (from more than 26,000 types).

You'll also get free online updates, so any new types are automatically blocked. Don't get stuck another day fighting Adware, Malware or the like. Try A2 Personal today.

T-Shirt Fundraisers

T-shirts are great for walkathons, event participation, camping, group recognition and of course, fundraisers of all kinds.

How can you profit from offering t-shirts? The first and most likely use for t-shirts is for a group to give a shirt to each participant at an event. Some groups require that the participant sell or raise a certain amount of money before getting a shirt. The average to raise is $30 before getting a t-shirt.

What about incorporating the cost of a shirt into the event budget? Say that a custom shirt cost you $9.00 each, but you put it into an event budget like a camp event or similar event and charge $12.00 to $15.00 each as a part of their registration fee. Notify each participant upfront the cost and the shirt they will receive upon attendance. This will raise up to $6.00 for each person for your event.

The least used t-shirt money maker is the actual T-Shirt Fundraiser. Your group actually designs a great looking shirt for $9.00 and then sell them in your community for $15.00 to $20.00. It works, but requires a lot of sales work to be effective.

We have a few t-shirt suppliers here.

Fundraising Realities Every Board Member Must Face

Fundraising Realities Every Board Member Must Face by David Lansdowne may be just the book for you if you are a board member or fundraising committee member. This book is your "One Hour Crash Course".

This book has everything in it that I subscribe to as a professional fundraising consultant, but let me forewarn you that if you are a stand on the sides type of board member you won't be happy with what's in this book.

Why? Because it's going to put you to work or at least change your thinking processes about board member fundraising.

Check this out. In Chapter 28, The Secret Lies In Asking, lays out the simplest way that a board member can help their organization...Ask! "Asking is the essence of fund raising. It's the most powerful tool you have. People rarely give generously without being asked directly." If nothing else, this book will help reconnect you and your board to what they should be doing automatically. Asking.
Go ahead and spend the $16.47 and get each board member or fundraising committee member their own copy of Fundraising Realities Every Board Member Must Face.
